Rimmel Apocalips

Rimmel Apocalips
It's been a while since I have heard anything about the once so raved Apocalips, and since all the hype seems to have more or less died, I thought that now would be the perfect time to write a review on them. Marketed as a lipstick, gloss and stain hybrid they are the only product in the drugstore of this nature and are therefore incredibly popular about many. I held off for a while on purchasing one of these, but eventually broke with the incredible reviews that they were receiving and bought my first shade, Apocaliptic. Since then, my collection has grown with the addition of Nova, which I won in a giveaway and I'm strongly considering adding one of the more nude shades as well.
Truth be told it took me a while to get into these lacquers, they are intensely pigmented becoming opaque in one swipe, which is good (if you're into that) but for me I was really looking for something a smidgen more paired down. Over time, I've found that the best application method is to apply, then slightly blot, leaving you with more of a stain and a less glossy appearance, but also making the product last a lot longer and reducing the risk of it sliding around your face or onto your teeth, never a good look. When you are going for a more intense look, I have found that it is necessary to use a liner before hand as the darker shades do have a tendency to bleed into the fine lines around the mouth, leading to a more messy finish, instead of a crisp line.
As previously mentioned I have the shades Apocaliptic, a bright slightly blue toned fuchsia which reminds me a lot of the MAC Lipstick Girl about Town and Nova, a bright bubblegum pink which are both stunning colours that seem to work well with my skin tone and brightening the teeth. The wear time seems to be around 3-4 hours for me, increasing a bit if I have blotted before hand. It's worth mentioning as well that Apocaliptic leaves a nice stain on the lips, which I'm pretty sure all of the darker shades would do, which means that reapplying later in the day is not imperative. My biggest grumble would have to be the scent which reminds me a lot of the play makeup that I used to have when I was young, however it does fade soon after application so it's not like you have to smelling it all day.
What do you think, would you ever drop traditional lipsticks for these?
