The NY Post reports:
The NBA All-Star Weekend concert, topped by an “A-list” performer the city hasn’t identified, will be held in the Flatiron Pedestrian Plaza as the Knicks and Nets host festivities next month.
The city had told the local community board that it planned to shut down major streets including Broadway from Feb. 10 to 13, but backed off when questioned by The Post on Monday night, saying street closings will only occur for several hours the day of the Feb. 12 concert.
The city will shut Fifth Avenue and Broadway from 23rd to 26th streets, as well as 24th and 25th streets between Broadway and Sixth Avenue. The stretch of 26th Street from Madison to Sixth avenues also will be closed.
It was not clear how much the city is being paid for the event.
But the disruption will include moving 100 granite blocks and planters, a Citi Bike dock, two solar-powered phone charging stations and an information booth, according to a complaint to the mayor’s office.
