Rihanna’s latest album Anti has gone platinum in less than 24 hours. Only 14 hours after the surprise release of ANTI, 1 million people worldwide have downloaded the singer’s eighth album.
Rihanna teamed up Samsung to allow 1 million fans to download her album for free, which only took 14 hours. Rihanna took to Twitter to thank her fans for their support. “1 MILLION in under 15 hrs!!!! NAVY R die!!!! Thank u to all my fans and @samsungmobileus,” she said.
In addition, The RIAA has officially certified ANTI platinum after logging 1 million downloads. “THANK U NAVY!!! #ANTI IS PLATINUM!!” Rihanna told her fans. Unfortunately, Billboard doesn’t count the 1 million albums that fans downloaded because it so called free. Which I understand to a point. But in other news Billboard isn’t responsible of giving platinum plaque. And it’s not like anti wasn’t going to sell a million copies anyway. Look at her other albums all but 1 have gone platinum.
