Vin Diesel is on a mission to bring back all his movie franchises from the depths of dead projects (not really, just xXx and Riddick and I’m not even sure he feels as strongly about xXx as he does Riddick). I’ll be the first to admit, I have never seen Pitch Dark (I’ve seen its lighter predecessor Pitch Perfect), but Chronicles of Riddick was a boring mess and it marked the first time I’ve actually fallen asleep in any theater. I hope this isn’t a repeat of that long forgotten sequel.

Left for dead on a sun-scorched planet, Riddick finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Activating an emergency beacon alerts two ships: one carrying a new breed of mercenary, the other captained by a man from Riddick’s past.
