Here's a massive tune from The Prodigy, a number 1 single which hit me like a bomb when I first saw it two whole decades ago. It can be found on the band's third album 'The Fat Of The Land', which was released the following year in 1997.
20 years on and the explosive 'Firestarter' still sounds like a war raging. Until now, I had no idea that its distinctive guitar sample is lifted from The Breeders hit 'Cannonball'. Its memorable black and white music video featured Keth Flint throwing himself around an abandoned London Underground tunnel at Aldwych. Directed by Walter Stern, the video caused controversy due to its frightening tone, and some television channels even refused to show the video until after the watershed.
