A classic from Robert Smith and co, to celebrate the announcement that The Cure will be playing not one but TWO shows for this year's Teenage Cancer Trust gigs. After tickets for the first show sold out on fan club presales alone, the band will now play the venue on March 29, as well as the previously announced night on March 28. This was the first Cure song I ever heard, as the video was played a lot on the much-missed ITV Chart Show back in the early 90's. My Auntie Julie was a big fan of the group, and I think I may have borrowed one of their albums from her when I was young. The Cure were one of the first alternative bands to have chart and commercial success in an era before alternative rock had broken into the mainstream. The band is estimated to have sold over 27 million albums as of 2004.
