Most "casual" music fans will know this lot for their 1996 hit 'Slight Return', but The Bluetones were in fact one of the best singles acts of the era, scoring no less than thirteen Top 40 hits. In my weekly RW/FF With Ben P Scott columns, I go back in time and relive my memories of the music that soundtracked my life, and for the last few months I have been recalling the music of 1995. Originally released in 1995 before appearing on the following year's 'Expecting To Fly' LP, the brilliant 'Bluetonic' was their third single release. After splitting in 2011, frontman Mark Morriss has embarked on a solo career and will be releasing his new album 'A Flash Of Darkness' very soon via Acid Jazz Records.
