When the NME and the British music press began hailing the arrival of 'the new rock n roll revolution' in 2001, it was The Strokes who received most of the hype. All of a sudden lots of other leather-clad garage-rock enthusiasts began appearing on the scene, but it was Black Rebel Motorcycle Club who stood out. Easily the coolest of the lot, they were the only ones who seemed exciting enough to be made such a fuss of. Their ultra-cool self titled debut puts 'Is This It' in the shadows, and still doesn't seem to get the credit it deserves. BRMC have also followed a more rewarding musical path over the years, and their most recent effort 'Specter At The Feast' made it into RW/FF's Albums Of The Year list for 2013, which can be seen HERE. One of my readers informed me that he would be purchasing the aforementioned LP on the strength of my recommendation, but didn't appear to be very familiar with the band. So for all you others who weren't around to hear their magnificent debut when it was released, I highly recommend it as a good place to start. Here is the infectious opening track 'Love Burns'...
