Rewind: Arab Strap - (Afternoon) Soaps

This gorgeous, sombrely sumptuous moment from Arab Strap reached number 74 in the UK singles chart when it was released 20 years ago this week in September 1998. This was a re-recorded version of 'Soaps', from the Glasweigan duo's second album Philophobia. One of 1998's very best singles. Arab Strap reunited a few years ago, but aisde from a re-recording of debut single 'The First Big Weekend', no new material has surfaced.
