My experience:
I’ve never used a lip pencil before this. I bought this purely for the pretty shade. Since I’m not much of a full coverage-opaque lip color kind of a girl, I was very apprehensive while buying this but the shade is gorgeous and I couldn’t leave it plus it’s very reasonably priced! Hence, my first ever lip pencil purchase happened.
People use lip pencils to define the lip contour or to prevent bleeding of lip colours or even to make lip colours long staying. They can also be used to fill in the entire lips and I use it this way.
This Bourjois lip pencil comes for Rs.295 and is very affordable and in fact I’ll say it’s very cheaply priced for the good quality being offered. It’s available in a good number of shades so you’ll surely find some shade you like
The pencil is a wooden pencil and the body is the same shade as the shade of the liner. It’s also easy to spot in a bunch of pencils. The pencil is very convenient to use and since it’s cap shuts tightly its very travel friendly. There is no risk of it getting spoilt in your handbag!
Talking about the texture of the pencil, I find it creamy and soft to use. But it’s not very creamy, it’s just right to be used without breaking and without any tugging on the lips. Please note that I’ve not used any other lip pencil to compare this with. But I’m very satisfied with the quality of this pencil. It glides on the lips very easily and smoothly. If you have extremely dry lips then it might tug on your lips and make the application not so smooth but otherwise it’s perfect. Since it’s a pencil, it is a quite drying in nature. It even enhances any minor imperfections on your lips so good exfoliation is important before using this.
The pigmentation of this pencil is very very good! In one swipe, it gives a good amount of color. It gives a matte finish. I absolutely hate matte finish lip products so I use this under a transparent gloss. It looks very pretty that way!
It also gives full coverage so girls with pigmented lips would like this!
It has quite good staying power. Topped with a gloss, it stays on my lips for 3 hours minimum without any meals in between. My gloss fades sooner and this fades evenly after that.
Since I’ve not used it with a lipstick or to line lips only, I will not comment on that.
Lastly, coming to the shade Peche Voluptueuse, it’s a beautiful peach-pink shade. It’s the perfect coral for me with a slight hint of pink. I absolute love the shade! Since it’s a very light shade, it can wash out darker skin tones so please try it first before buying! On my lips it looks lighter than in the swatches, it looks more of orange-coral on me and I love it that way
Overall, these are amazing lip pencils and at the price, you can afford to get quite a few of them! The quality is really good and the pencil offers coverage good enough to cover lips fully! The only con is that it’s drying in nature! I’m going to get the shade “Enjoleuse” next. I highly recommend these pencils to you all! its worth trying at least one of these even if you’re not fond of lip pencils!
