Vivian Divine is Dead was an okay book for me. Sometimes it would give me a feeling of “sitting at the edge of my seat” but at other times, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. What I did not like about this book is the insta-love. I was seriously pissed at that because it was just so unrealistic and annoying how she easily trusts this guy who is a complete stranger. Plus, I did not like how she has the time to flirt when she’s supposed to be running and hiding away from a serial killer (shaking my damn head man, smh). Why the hell would you flirt with another guy if you know there is a man chasing you AND you’re in a different country you’ve never been to, and you do not know anyone!? Oh Vivian, you’re really not smart. Besides the protagonist, I also did not like how the mystery was somewhat predictable.
Like I said, the mystery was somewhat predictable, but some parts were still really good. There were some scenes where I wasn’t expecting them to happen and I would be like “:O no way!” Overall some parts in this book were really good and creepy (in a good way) but the insta-love and the cliche scenes prevented me from giving this book a higher rating. I recommend you to check it out in the library, and I wouldn’t put this on top of my tbr list.
