This book was fantastically written, and THE FEELS MAN! THE FEELS! The F- It List is told from Alex’s point of view (1st person) and is about her helping her best friend Becca do some stuff from her bucket (F- it) list. There’s seriously more to that one sentence summary that I gave you (lol) but I won’t spill anything more because that would be a spoiler which is no bueno. This book is such a page turner and very fast-paced. The writing style was just well executed, and flowed smoothly. I felt like I was watching a movie while reading it.
Becca and Alex were just crazy girls, I tell you. Even though Becca, unfortunately, has cancer, she’s very witty and her personality is as bright as a rainbow (I’m so cheesy). Same goes to Alex. She’s so hilarious and I lost count on how many times I laughed because of these two wonderful characters. They were very relatable, and oh my gosh, the stuff that was on Becca’s F-it list were freaking HILARIOUS! I’ll give you one. Just one. She wanted to send her underwear to Zac Efron! She started writing stuff on the bucket list when she was 11 or 12 that’s why some sounds ridiculously funny.
Although the book was 70% hilarious, it was very depressing too. I know that deep down Becca and Alex are suffering. I think they were trying to laugh off their problems. That is SO me, and that’s why I found them relatable. Sometimes I just laugh off my problems, and create a joke out of it instead. Don’t try to let your problems bring you down with them, you should fight it! and that’s what I saw in Becca and Alex’s personalities which is awesome!
Like I said, there’s more to the story! This book has it all in my opinion. It has great romance, friendship, obstacles, family problems, etc. The only thing that got me kind of “eek” was too much sex. Maybe the sex should have been lessened and a bit more focus on Becca’s story. Overall I highly recommend this book to anyone. If you don’t like contemporaries, well, you should still read it!
