SHHHH!
Don’t spread the word!
Three-day weekend. Party at White Rock House on Henry Island.
You do NOT want to miss it.

It was supposed to be the weekend of their lives—an exclusive house party on Henry Island. Best friends Meg and Minnie each have their reasons for being there (which involve T.J., the school’s most eligible bachelor) and look forward to three glorious days of boys, booze and fun-filled luxury.

But what they expect is definitely not what they get, and what starts out as fun turns dark and twisted after the discovery of a DVD with a sinister message: Vengeance is mine.

Suddenly people are dying, and with a storm raging, the teens are cut off from the outside world. No electricity, no phones, no internet, and a ferry that isn’t scheduled to return for two days. As the deaths become more violent and the teens turn on each other, can Meg find the killer before more people die? Or is the killer closer to her than she could ever imagine?

review

This book was so creepy in a good way! I was hooked on from star to finish and read it in one sitting. I’m an impatient reader, and I get distracted easily, so yes, this book was just fantastic since it was able to keep my eyes glued on from the very beginning. First off, Gretchen McNeil’s writing style is really good. Her writing style gave the book a mysterious and scary vibe which I felt throughout the story. Ten is about ten teenagers who goes to a house party at Henry Island, but they don’t know that there is a person in the ‘party’ who is a killer. Dun, dun, DUNNNNNNNN….

I really like the characters and how they were all flawed. Meg is our protagonist and I like how she cares so much about her best friend, Minnie, who is the complete opposite of her. Minnie is easily angered so she has to take some medications, and Meg always reminds her when it’s time to take it, etc. She’s such a good friend even if Minnie can be a pain in the behind sometimes. Although I liked the main character, my favorite is Kumiko who is one of the supporting characters. I love how she’s kick-ass, smart, and witty!

Overall I seriously recommend this book to everyone! While reading Ten, I felt like I was watching a scary movie. I even got paranoid at times (lol) because I thought the killer in the book was in my house. Also, I had to stop and take a breather while reading because the story was just getting too intense and exciting! If you haven’t read Ten, you really should. I think it’s a perfect read during the winter season.
