What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?
This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She’s aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn’t until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He’s the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.
Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

Anna, oh Anna. There were some times that she pissed me off, but at other times I'd think "dude, she's awesome!"  When she pissed me off, it was because she seemed to just hide in the corner when things got bad. This only happened in the beginning though, and as she learned more about herself, she became MUCH more rebellious. Surprisingly, that's when I liked her the most! When I found out that Anna was supposed to influence people to drink and do drugs, I was appalled. Anna reminds me of myself - very pure and doesn't want to do any of that stuff. I surprised myself though, because one of my favorite scenes was when Anna was at the bar and having fun. It wasn't because she was drunk, per say, but rather because of the voices talking to her and persuading her to get the people to drink.
OH MY GOSH. The sexual frustration between Kai and Anna was just: OH MY GOSH. That three word phrase is the only way to describe their relationship. It was awesome and perfect and amazing and a bunch of other synonyms. Kai was so dreamy, but he had his flaws. Those flaws made him even more attractive though! I absolutely loved the model on the front cover. Isn't he just GORGEOUS? Anyways, I really liked the way he treated Anna, with such tenderness. I hated when he tried to push her away though, by making himself seem like a bad guy. My boyfriend has done that before, and it really makes me irritated! If you end up liking Kaiden and Anna, you're going to end up hating the ending between them. Hopefully this won't be the end for these two wonderful characters!
The supporting characters were hit right on the bulls-eye. Each one was really cool, but for different reasons. I really liked Anna's human best friend Jay. He was the perfect character, and Wendy Higgins did a great job writing him! Besides Jay, Anna's 'mom,' Patti, were the two people who kept Anna focused, even though Jay had no clue what was going on. Kai's other friends were really cool too, and I liked Kopano, except for when he was trying to get with Anna. The other three friends had well developed backgrounds with were VERY interesting! None the less, Wendy Higgins supplied us with wonderful supporting characters that were easy to love and connect with!
So the whole plot was that Anna was going to go look for her dad with Kaiden. Anna's father was locked up a few years ago, and when they went to visit him he seemed like the perfect father: caring, sincere, loving, and all that other good stuff. Soon after, he was released and when he visited Anna he seemed cold and mean and just weird. I don't know if this was on purpose, but Anna didn't even notice the change in him! That's the only bad thing about this novel, I'd say!
I had no clue what this was when I was going into Sweet Evil, besides that it was paranormal. Little did I know that the main character's father represented one of the seven sins! The idea was so original, it just blew me away! I had never heard of anything like this, so you can tell that I was instantly sucked in. Wendy Higgins, you are a genius.
