My experience:
I’ve been using the Ponds BB cream for about a week now and reviewing it for you all today.
I love my Garnier BB cream and wasn’t expecting much when this ponds BB launched since it’s marketed in their fairness line and I personally do not advocate fairness products. I bought this just to try. I got the small size, 9g. Read on to know how I like it!
The 9gram tube is soooo tiny.
The tube looks classy but I think they should have started the size at 18 grams like the other BBs, 9 grams is too small!Anyway, the tube is a sturdy white tube with a pink label and a silver cap. It’s attractive and also very convenient to use. The nozzle dispenses the cream very nicely and there are no chances of wastage.
The cream is thick, thicker than the other BB creams I’ve used. But it blends in decently except on extremely dry areas. I feel it emphasizes dry patches on skin. I have mostly combination-oily skin in summers but sometimes I do have a little dryness on my cheeks which needs to be moisturized properly before applying this cream.
There is only one shade available in this cream(Why, Ponds??
). This shade is a little yellow for my skin tone but after blending in properly and with a little powder on top it looks perfect. The cream overall gives a bright look and a nice glow to my face. *happy happy me*Another good thing about this BB cream for me is its coverage. On regular days, I don’t use concealer and with this cream, 80% of my dark circles are covered and the eye contour area looks radiant. On my face, I don’t need a lot of coverage (for blemishes etc) other than around the eyes and this cream does the job of evening out my skin tone very well.
But yes shade is a big con! It would only suit medium skin tone girls. And plus, those whose complexion is far from the shade of the cream won’t be able to use this at all as this has quite an opaque coverage and the shade difference would look obvious.
Although the cream is thick, it doesn’t feel heavy on skin. But it’s also not as light as the Garnier cream. And with its texture, it makes skin feel very smooth.
I think it’s perfect for normal skinned girls. Because it’s neither moisturizing nor mattifying. On me, it looks natural in the beginning. But in the Delhi heat, after a few hours my T-zone gets quite oily and applying powder becomes essential.
It stays on my face for 5-6 hours but my face gets sweaty if don’t powder it. This is not an ideal product for oily skinned girls but I like using it for the nice coverage and natural finish.
Overall, it’s a really good BB cream. It is packaged well, comes at an affordable price. It gives a very natural finish and gives good coverage. It’s not so great for oily skin but what are powders for?
Why you’ll like it:
1) Classy packaging.
2) Convenient to use.
3) Has SPF 30.
4) Budget friendly.
5) Good coverage.
6) Brightens up skin and gives a glow.
7) For me the shade matches quite well.
Why you’ll dislike it:
1) Doesn’t blend in on dry patches.
2) Only 1 shade.
3) Not so good for very oily or very dry skin.
To buy or not to buy?
Yes! It’s worth a try!
