I had bought the pink blossom one about a year back and used and abused it a lot (its broken now:( and almost about to finish). I wanted to try the Peach one too but never got around to buying it as I kept buying other lip balms. Last week, I read on a blog that these might be getting discontinued, so I rushed to pick the other variant also. I am reviewing both the variants together.

These lip balms are super affordable at 99 bucks.

The lip balms come in simple twist up tubes with pretty floral print on the cap. Each lip balm tube is the same color as the shade of the balm. The tube shuts very tightly and also being so slim and compact in size, it is very travel friendly. The lip balm tube looks very stylish and I personally love the packaging

The basic concept of these Color Bloom lip balms is that they adapt to the color of the lips and give a tint. The lip balms are colourless in their bullets but on lips they give a slight tint.

Both the balms have a creamy texture and are very soft to apply on lips. The texture is light and I don’t feel I’m wearing anything on my lips with these.

Talking about the Pink Blossom first, it is a colourless white balm in the tube. On applying to lips, it gives a bright pink tint which looks very pretty. If this balm is layered, the tint is stronger and brighter and leans more towards fuschia and might not be everyone’s cup of tea. I personally don’t layer this much.

Peach blossom on the other hand is a creamish color in the bullet and gives a very soft pinkish-peach tint. Even on layering a lot, it doesn’t come off as too strong. For me, Peach blossom is more natural looking and pretty. Also, I find that this peach one makes my lips look fuller. I highly recommend peach blossom to all college/school going girls. Whereas the pink blossom can be your best friend for a party so having both of these can keep you sorted if you don’t wear too much lip makeup otherwise.

But these balms don’t really show up on very pigmented lips as is the case with my sister, so I know!

Both the balms give a glossy finish on application. The gloss remains for a decent amount of time, say 1-2 hours depending on whether you eat or drink anything, after which the tint remains on the lips. I love the staying power!

Also talking about its moisturizing properties since it is essentially a lip balm, I find it quite moisturizing. The balm makes my lips soft and healthy looking. I don’t think it can heal chapped lips but it does moisturize dry lips to a good extent.

The lip balms have similar fragrance, they have a mild fruity fragrance which is very pleasant.

I would be purchasing backups for both the variants, in case they’re discontinued as per the rumor. Maybelline, please don’t discontinue them!!

Pic 1 – freshly applied.

Pic 2 – after a few seconds.

Pic 3 – after a few minutes(this is the shade with full intensity)

Pic 4 – wiped with a tissue. (the gloss has left, but the tint remains). The tint fades away gradually and would completely fade away in around 6-7hours.

Overall, they’re amazing lip balms at an affordable price. They truly change color on lips and look very pretty. They’re also moisturizing and make lips look health and soft. I highly recommend these and both are just amazing value for money.

Why you’ll like it:

1)   Pretty and convenient packaging.

2)   Travel friendly.

3)   Very reasonably priced.

4)   Fruity fragrance.

5)   Creamy and light texture.

6)   Very pretty tint of both.

7)   Great staying power.

Why you’ll dislike it:

These won’t show much on pigmented lips otherwise you just can not dislike these

:D

To buy or not to buy?

Go get these right now!!!

My rating:

10/10
