I’m not a fan of historical books (it all started out with Clockwork Angel.. didn’t like that book much) so I was hesitant to pick this book up at first, but it has been recommended to me and it was on sale so why not try it? I am SO happy that I did, and I loved it! The characters were witty and the book was filled with descriptions that will not bore you, but will make you curious and wanting to read more. The writing style is GORGEOUS and perfect. I really like the plot and there’s a lot of family line stuff which I was kind of confused & I forgot if the character was an aunt, a mom, or a grandma, but you’ll get the hang of it eventually.
This book is basically about 2 families who have this special gene that enables some of the people in their family to time travel to the past. I really love how there was already a plot twist at the beginning of the book. The book is told from Gwyneth’s perspective and yeah.. I’ll just leave it to that because if I go any deeper into her character it would be a major spoiler. I really like her personality; she’s funny, sarcastic, and adventurous. She can talk to ghosts which I thought was pretty cool, plus, the ghost is hilarious because he always side comments.
Overall I highly recommend this book to you. The only thing that I didn’t like was the romance. I thought it could have been better. There was also a lot of questions left unanswered so I think the next book will be much better. If you love ya historical books or time traveling, then this is definitely for you.
