Now you all know that eyelashes are 'my thing' and when it comes to trying anything new for lashes then I obviously jump at the chance! Whether that be products, accessories or suppliers, I love to find new things to recommend to you all.
I was kindly contacted by the lovely people at Eyecurl to see if I would like to try out their brand new heated eyelash curler, the Eyecurl II.
Now I have only ever tried one other heated eyelash curler as I have never been a real fan of them in the past as I stay very loyal to my all time favourite, the famous Shu Uemura eyelash curler, which is just the best manual lash curler by far in my opinion. I always found in the past that heated eyelash curlers took too long to do something that should take minutes and that you are forever having to replace the batteries which is annoying when you switch them on and again it don't work?!
So with this in mind, I thought it would be interesting to check out a new brand and see if it would change my opinion of heated eyelash curlers.
Here is the eyelash curler that I received -

I love the fact its pink! I believe its available in black and red also, but this made me want to use it.
FACT: Eyecurl is the only wand style eyelash curler to have been endorsed my Kate Moss, so its loved by many celebrities.
HOW TO USE - Switch the curler on by the silver button at the front. The small rubber tip of the curler shall go from red to white to indicate when the curler has heated up and is ready (shown below).
Hold at the base of the lashes for a few minutes, before mascara application, after application or both.
If any mascara gets onto the curler, then use the little brush provided to clean.
Do not brush upwards with the wand, just hold gently in place against the lashes until desired curl is created. Move the curler along the eye to get a full curl across the whole eye.

My first impression was how it is super lightweight, slim and easy to fit into your make up bag so totally portable. You just need one AA battery, which was provided for me with the curler.
When using any heated eyelash curler its normally recommended to use after your mascara so the curl sets in place whilst your mascara is drying. I personally like to use it before & after as I have naturally straight eyelashes so every bit of extra help to curl is welcome in my book. So I think judge it by how you want to use it.

As you can tell from the pictures above it has made a BIG difference and definitely impressed me!It heated up in seconds and did not feel like it was too hot against my eye, in fact it felt nice! I am also a contact lens wearer and it did not interfere with them at all. I felt it worked better on my lashes using it before mascara as it really did push and lift the lashes very easily. I then applied my favorite mascara, that then holds that curl in place, which is Make-Up Forever Smoky lash waterproof mascara (this is amazing at holding a curl!).
I didn't need to use this after my mascara as my lashes were curled but I did try it and it made my lashes clump slightly so I shall just only use before mascara. This shall be different for each person depending on your lash type, mascara used etc
TOP TIP: This is handy to use when wearing strip lashes as sometimes when you apply them you can get one lash set higher than the other, this way you just gently lift the strip lash from the base of the lashes to get them even, without crimping the false lash! I don't recommend using on semi-permanent lash extensions as this may interfere with the base where they are attached, as I say to all my clients.
