An enjoyable debut novel.
Garden of Thorns is a fantasy YA novel full of action. The plot was predictable, and I thought the blurb misleading. Rose and Rayce never had a deal to reveal the Garden's secrets and he kept her as a hostage for a short while. I thought the author might choose to follow a path similar to "1001 nights", but that wasn't the case.
The romance was sweet (kisses only) but so very little of it, of course I wanted more! Rose and Rayce had a convincing romance/chemistry together. The world-building was great, with a lot of details and creative solutions. Pacing could be better, a little slow at times.
It ended with a HEA and didn't have a cliffhanger. The author left room for sequel if this goes well!
