Review: Falling in love again with Lora Leigh's HOT romantic suspense series - Nauti Boys & Girls, Navy SEALS, Elite Ops, The CallahansSo what books are you reading this summer? I’ve been having fun rereading some favs, so in addition to singular reviews, I’ll be taking a broader look at some of my favorite authors and series that I’m rereading this summer.
First up for this treatment is Lora Leigh. She’s one of my go to favorite authors and hers is one of the first books that I remember purchasing when I discovered the wonderful and magical world of ebooks. Since then, I’ve continued to grab her books as they’ve been released, but haven’t really taken the time to dig into her series and reread them. Well, I was enchanted to do so recently and had myself a summer Leigh-stock!
Review: Falling in love again with Lora Leigh's HOT romantic suspense series - Nauti Boys & Girls, Navy SEALS, Elite Ops, The CallahansWith the release of her newest book in her Nauti series, Nauti Enchantress, Leigh continues to delight and entice readers with the mixture of the hot innocence of Dawg’s half sisters - the Nauti Girls. Before I began this book though, I realized it had been a long, long time since I had read the previous books in the series, so I dug them out and had a Nauti reading party! Whew, that’s some hot reading and perfect for these summer days. I love the Mackay boys and, heck, Somerset County seems so just darn delightful that I’d like to get one of those houseboats on the lake too.
If you haven’t read the Nauti series - the five plus Nauti Boys series (now available in The Nauti Boys Collection / plus Nauti and Wild) and the three book Nauti Girls series (Nauti Temptress, Nautier and Wilder, Nauti Enchantress) - this summer would be the perfect time. They’re the perfect mix of alpha bad boy heroes, the kick-ass heroines who can bring these Nauti boys to their knees, and suspenseful story lines that keep you guessing till the last page is turned. Leigh’s style that mixes erotic heat and humor equally with romance makes for a fabulous read - and provides the reader with characters that become more than words on a page, really a virtual extended family.
Nauti Enchantress focuses on Lyrica Mackay, the third of Dawg’s four half sisters. Lyrica’s been crushing on Graham, her best friend’s older brother, for years and years. But she finally gives up on this major player after a steamy and sadly enlightening encounter in the winter. But a few months later he’s the one who is rushing to her rescue and, hey, he is a hottie. What is a girl to do, especially when her extended family is away. Well, pick up Nauti Enchantress and find out what happens with one hot player and one saucy and beautiful Mackay sister are locked away together for days on end…
As I was enchanted by Nauti Enchantress , I’m awarding it four and a half stars (or lightning bugs in honor of my nighttime friends).

Review: Falling in love again with Lora Leigh's HOT romantic suspense series - Nauti Boys & Girls, Navy SEALS, Elite Ops, The CallahansOnce I finished Leigh’s Nauti series, I just wanted more Leigh - and St. Martin’s/Macmillan has compiled quite a few of her series into collections now, so I was able to hook up with both her Navy SEALs and Elite Ops series with ease. (See: Navy SEALs Complete Series: 3 Books + 3 Novellas (Tempting Navy SEALs) and Elite Ops Complete Series). I’ll let you know ahead of time that you should read these two series together as Elite Ops carries on with many of the characters (and some story lines) from the Navy SEALs line.
Until I reread these I had forgotten how much I loved, yes LOVED, these two series. Oh my goodness, these SEALS are hot, hot hot and I think my Kindle is still overloaded from all that oozing testosterone. Talk about edge of your seat reading, these stories have thrills a minute along with sizzling romance and are the perfect beach read (though you may be dipping in the water frequently to cool off). The publishers collections are great and all but one Elite Ops short story from Men in Danger are included. (And yes, you should read Leigh’s short stories as they tend to be very integral to series story lines.) If you already have the major books in the Navy SEALS and Elite Ops series, but don’t have the short stories/novellas, her publisher will be offering the short stories/novellas in a new collection - Taken (release date: July 22, 2014).
Review: Falling in love again with Lora Leigh's HOT romantic suspense series - Nauti Boys & Girls, Navy SEALS, Elite Ops, The CallahansAs you might guess, I hadn’t quite finished with my summer Leigh-stock, so I traveled virtually with her to Colorado and spent some time with those bad boys (and girl), the Callahan cousins. Oh my, these three stories (Midnight SinsDeadly Sins, and Secret Sins) are also sizzling hot - with an intrigue and conspiracy that dates back over 40 years. This was the first time that I read these books back to back (previously I had read them when each was released) and I hadn’t realized how much of the storyline I missed by doing so. This time I picked up on a lot of the nuances of the intrigue I had missed during my first read and have to say liked this series a lot more with this second read.
I have to say that Leigh cares about her characters. When I turned the last page of the final book in the Elite Ops series, all I could think was, “what happens with Rory Malone, the other Elite Ops team, the women???” Since Leigh hasn’t written a sequel, I thought I was out of luck until I read Secret Sins. Rory’s back and I felt like I was hearing news of a long lost cousin! Thanks, Lora Leigh for keeping readers in the loop.
I’m really looking forward to Crowe Callahan’s story in Ultimate Sins (release date: August 26, 2014). I’ve enjoyed the teasers about his and Amelia’s interlude and wonder what be happening now with them both. (If you absolutely have to know a little bit more before the release date, check out Sins in the Night: The Prologue and First Chapter to Ultimate Sins, to be released July 22, 2014 for $0.99.)
The best thing about this first installment of Leigh-stock is that I know there will be more to come this summer! You’ll notice I haven’t mentioned her sensational Breeds series that will have a Leigh-stock of it’s own as well as her sizzling and searing Bound Hearts series.
If you’re looking for a perfect read for the summer pick up any and/or all of these Leigh series and I guarantee you’ll be enjoying sun, sand, and hot romance!

When Dawg Mackay made his four half-sisters part of his family, he vowed that he would care for and protect them with everything he had. But what happens now that the girls are all grown up? The Mackay girls are on the loose, and Somerset County will never be the same…
Lyrica Mackay has wanted tall, handsome Marine Graham Brock for as long as she can remember. Unfortunately, Graham only sees her as his friend Dawg Mackay’s “baby sister.” Or so she believes. The truth is, the fiery party girl stirs something in Graham no female ever has. But Graham, like everyone in Somerset County, knows that trouble stalks the Mackays like bears track honey, and when a Mackay runs as hot as Lyrica does, someone’s bound to get burned.
Then Graham discovers that Lyrica’s wild side is just a cover for a frightened and vulnerable woman who needs something true and genuine, something only Graham can offer. But surrendering his heart to Lyrica exposes them both to her shocking past—and a sinister secret that, once exposed, could destroy their only chance at happiness and shake the Mackay family to its core.
