My thoughts:
I am definitely not your needleworking, yarn loving, knitting type of girl, so reading this book was a little out of my comfort zone. I think that this book is definitely geared more toward the knitting-type of people. Fortunately, the knitting theme of this book didn't take over and there was enough to keep this yarn-challenged girl occupied. I can appreciate an author who knows about something and uses it in their story, but leaves enough room for the reader who doesn't really understand that theme. MacRae does a fantastic job of this in this novel and I didn't feel overwhelmed with knowledge of something that I know very little about. There was a enough balance to make this book a good read.
This mystery was a little confusing for me. There were too many people involved and I tended to forget who was who and how they were linked to the overall story. More than likely it was me as my attention span seemed to wander with this one a little. I spent more time confused than actually enjoying the twists and turns of the mystery. I definitely enjoyed the previous book in this series better than this one. I will say that Geneva, the ghost's character, is an absolute delight. She is saucy and I am very intrigued by her back story. The author only shares a little about her history, but I am dying to learn more. So for that simple reason, I will continue with this series and hope for the best with the next addition to this series.
I definitely feel that if you are someone who enjoys knitting or fiber-types of hobbies, that this book would appeal to you more than it did to me. There isn't a lot about that in this story and the mystery takes prevalence, but still I think that this would be more appealing to people who enjoy reading about those types of hobbies. Definitely not one of the better cozy mysteries I have read, but I will continue to give the series a chance, however, I am starting to feel that this series isn't really my sort of thing. Still I think the author does a fantastic job and definitely has a lot of knowledge of her topic, and that readers will enjoy her knack for blending hobby with mystery.
