While starting this book, I thought the main concept of the book is for the protagonist, West, to find out who Harper Knight is, a girl who always comment on his vlogs at exactly 2:02 p.m. Then, during Chapter 2, I realize who Harper really is, and I thought, “that cannot be it!!! That’s too obvious!” Then, as I was reading on, I realized that the main concept of the book isn’t about discovering who Harper is, it’s about how West deals with what he’ going through. I thought this book was wonderfully written. I cried several times and I was totally not expecting that. I thought it was a cute fluffy read with ice creams and sprinkles, but it was only like that half of the time. The other half is very sad. There are a few times where West just talks to himself, and we get to read how he really feels.
I really like how this book was realistic and not realistic at the same time. It was interesting to read West’s relationship with his father. That is all. If I go further on, that would be considered a spoiler. I also like West’s relationship with his best friend, Cat, although at times, both of them were really cheesy. The cheesiness did not really bother me because they were meant to be cheesy. Overall, if you’re looking for a great and short young adult contemporary read, I recommend Click to Subscribe. It’s a really moving story with humor on top.
