After doing some research on natural skincare I discovered coconut oil. After doing a little more research, I bought some and I decided to go for the Biona Organic Coconut oil which you can buy here from Amazon. Today's post is just a quick, overall review so I won't go into too much detail on all of the benefits as I want to do a separate post on that.
Before buying coconut oil it's important to find one that's completely raw, virgin and unrefined. This basically means it's 100% natural and that it's been extracted correctly, so that all of the wonderful goodness is still there.
It comes in solid form which makes it easy to use for everything. I did read that it's best to buy it in a glass jar, as plastic can sometimes give the oil an odd smell. But the plastic hasn't effected this one and it smells exactly like a coconut.
The oil has a very rich texture and is really nourishing to everything it's used on. It's calming and soothing on sensitive skin and really helps to reduce redness. I've been using it blended with another essential oil as a facial cleanse, it's made a dramatic difference to my skin in just 2 weeks. It makes an excellent base oil to mix with any essential oil, and is an all round fantastic natural product.
