Rest in Peace Dennis Lane-Blogger

By Urbanbushwoman @urbanbushwoman9

I have had my head in my own stormy clouds all week so I missed this one big time. For those of you who do not live in Howard County (especially my followers in the UK), you probably don’t know that we have a blogger network here. There are many people out here who write about life, food, religion, politics, and the community. One such community blogger is (or was) Mr. Dennis Lane, blogger for A Tale of Two Cities. He co-hosted a podcast show called ‘And Then There’s That‘.  He was a father, real estate agent, and a trusted friend in the community.  He was tragically killed this week. The suspects in the case are his 14-year-old daughter and her 19-year-old boyfriend. The case is under investigation.

I have never met Mr. Lane but a man with that kind of rooting in the community is someone I would have loved to meet. He sounded like a good person. His podcasts were known to be informative and popular. I wish I could say more but unfortunately I don’t know any details. details. What disturbs me about it all is being killed by your child. I know teenagers go through all kinds of hormonal changes which can cause them to be rather unstable. But to have the instinct to kill someone is way past teenage angst. Where is the guilt? Where is the fear? Everyone is born with the light of God in them. You may call it a conscious. How do you ignore your conscious enough to take a life? It just isn’t natural. Anyway, I won’t begin to speculate anything because I wasn’t there. I don’t know the victim’s daughter or her boyfriend. And I’m not in on the details of the investigation. What I will do is pray for his family (and I hope you will join me).  The death of a family member is hard to face and when it’s brought on by another member of the family I’m sure it can be devastating.

The only podcast episode that I ever heard was #61 ‘A Trip Down Calvin Ball Lane’. They sounded like they were having so much fun.  Click here to listen to that episode if you like. Rest in Peace Mr. Lane.

PS I’ve already read some ignorant, judgmental comments about the 14 year old dating a 19 year old. If you wish to make those kinds of statements, do it on someone else’s page. Chances are you don’t know anything about them or they’re situation. I won’t tolerate disrespect.
