Career criminal Solomon

A perp, Muhammad Solomon who has 22 prior felony convictions (the most recent possession of a controlled substance), was shot in the ankle when he tried to break into a home.

The Bradenton Newspaper, in Florida, reported on the crime.

Around 10:30 p.m., a homeowner had called the Manatee Sheriff’s office and reported a burglary to his home which is currently being remodeled. Deputies responded and filled out a report. I’m assuming that due to the break in, the homeowner and a male friend decided to stay at the home overnight.

About an hour later, the homeowner heard what was apparently someone trying to break in again. He heard a car pull up and asked his wife to call 911 before he went outside to check out what was going on. The homeowner then saw the perp armed, with what appeared to be a firearm. The homeowner hid behind a tarp upon seeing Solomon and came out and struck the perp, knocking him to the ground.

I’m not sure how the following happened, based upon what I read in the article. Yet apparently the homeowner saw Solomon reach behind his back and he feared for his life so the homeowner picked up Solomon’s gun and shot Solomon in the left ankle. The homeowner then threw the gun to the side and bear hugged Solomon until the police arrived.

Solomon (age 35) was treated at a local hospital, released and then taken to the Manatee County jail. He is being held on bonds totaling $27,500 on charges of armed burglary of a dwelling and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
