Republic P-47G Thunderbolt

This is my first photograph of a flyable Thunderbolt.  From this angle, the wide stance and gaping cowling reinforce the brutishness of the Jug.  What a great airshow Planes of Fame was, definitely recommend it to everyone.  First flown in 1941, the last P-47 in active duty was retired in 1966 from the Peruvian Air Force.  All ‘G’ models, like this one, were license built by Curtiss-Wright.
