With Places I may have visited, people I may have met Pt. 1, the first of a four-part series, Dutch harpist Remy van Kesteren, reminisces about travel in a time when the inner world has to replace the outer one. As a composer he does not be tied down to a particular genre. His classical training often takes a back seat to jazz and minimal music.
He is his own rhythm section, with the uypbeat addis as a prime example of what can be accomplished with loops. Van Kesteren takes the harp out of the romantical, new age-y niche that is associated with. Odds are that he could his own as a member of adventurous indie rock band or a jazz trio that is looking for a soloist.
Places I may have visited, people I may have met Pt. 1 is released via Snowstar Records.
