I want to take a moment of silence to honor and remember all of the young children that fell victim to Friday’s tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newton, CT. As I was sitting at my desk on Friday afternoon, I could barely hold back tears when I found out what happened. My heart goes out to all of the families affected by this. It is a reminder to never take anything for granted, to live each day to its absolute fullest, and to never let your family and friends go a second without knowing how much you love them. To the 26 children whose lives were lost, rest in peace and know that you are in safe place now. To the teacher, Victoria Soto, who died fighting (and succeeding) to save her students, you are a hero in everyone's eyes.
