When I think of my dream vanity, I envision a white bright space. Clean and simple, yet feminine with vintage and nautical touches.
My vanity is the most used area, aside from my bed, in my bedroom, and where I have “me” time and reflect. I’m not one of those who can just wake up right before having to leave, and pull myself ready in a flash. Not that I can’t get ready pretty quickly, but I don’t like to feel rushed, right when I wake up, it throws the rest of my day out of balance, and is just asking for trouble. I like going at my own pace, I find pure enjoyment and pleasure siting at my vanity sipping green tea, sometimes along with music but most times in silence being mindful of my actions and the morning. The vanity is an important aspect in of my life, so not only should it reflect my style, but I like to keep things looking fresh. A new scented candle, or single stem flower are pretty but a new wall mirror can completely transform the look of your vanity. I’ve always loved One Kings Lane pieces, so it was fitting as I begin my room makeover, that I was approached to feature my favorite wall mirror from their new collection. I choose my favorite statement mirror as the inspiration for my dream vanity.
1. I liked the Villa Wall Mirror the best, because it was simple, and fun with its geometric edges, but the curved edges makes it more feminine. I think it’s an overall great mirror that goes well with both rustic or modern designs.
2. I love the look of white simple desks with a drawer used as a vanity. The clean lines go with any style, and the drawer offers space to organize makeup. Marjorie Console
3. A comfortable stool means a world of a difference when getting ready, and the low back on the Vivi Vanity stool is perfect. I love the light blue color, and perfect style blend of retro and modern.
4. Lighting is very important when putting on makeup, although I prefer natural sunlight which is the most accurate, on cloudy morning or nighttime routine, it’s important that have good lighting focused on your vanity. A table lamp is great if your vanity is big enough, but wall scones work the best. The mirrored Margo sconces compliment the villa wall mirror perfectly.
5. Trays are an essential part of a vanity, it’s a pretty and functional way to display make up brushes placed in containers, and beauty necessities, or a pretty container for special jewelry pieces. Lucite Vanity Tray
And of course the final lovely touches:
6. You can never have enough small dishes for rings, hair pins and other miscellaneous small objects. Lemonwood Dishes
7. Round White Lacquer Box by Mapleton Drive
8. Bubble Glass Jar
9. Although, they’re drinking glasses, I love the hint of green in them and they would be a lovely way to store brushes and lipsticks neatly. Glasses
10.I love these translucent boxes to keep make up if you don’t have a drawer, or beautiful statement pieces.
11. Grass Ball Decor
The new collection offers many stylish mirrors to fit any look. My other favorite, with its gold thin border and delicate detail the Metal Acanthus Leaf mirror reflects my personal style, and reminds me of the antique mirrors in the Portuguese homes of my family. See One Kings Lane’s entire wall mirror collection here.
As far as my morning routine it’s pretty much the same {see here}, but it’s been some time and since then I’ve found new products that have become life changers in my repitore. An updated post soon to come, until then I can’t wait to use this and One Kings Lane as inspiration as I embrace on my vanity transformation.
