Reduce Allergy Symptoms with Honeywell Air Purifiers

Every spring, one of my sons has a terrible time with allergies. His eyes get all puffy and itchy. His nose runs. He wakes up all stuffy and congested. It's as if he has a cold for three months! I feel really sorry for him, so I do all I can to help lessen his symptoms. We limit his exposure to those things that set him off (particularly pollen); he takes child-appropriate medications and eye drops when needed; and, we keep his room as dust-free as possible. Another way we improve the air quality in my son's room is with a Honeywell True HEPA Air Purifier. Honeywell's purifiers capture up to 99.97% of microscopic airborne particles that pass through their filters, such as pollen, dust, smoke, pet fur/dander, mold spores, bacteria and even viruses. We recently received the HPA100 model (shown at right) for review, and it's doing a fantastic job of helping my son to feel better. The HPA100 model is sized for a medium room, which makes it perfect for his bedroom. There are also models for large and extra-large rooms.
I love the LED tap controls. My 12-year-old can easily use the purifier by himself. You can use it 24/7 or set the auto-off timer for 2, 4 or 8 hours. It runs very quietly, but my son still prefers silence when he sleeps, so he turns it on when he leaves for school and sets it for 8 hours. You can also choose one of four cleaning levels: Germ, General Clean, Allergen (our preferred setting), and Turbo. There's even a light dimmer! And LED filter change reminders prompt me to change the filters so the purifier runs efficiently.
I'm really impressed with the Honeywell True HEPA Air Purifier. Before we started using it, my son would wake up in the morning and have to blow his nose for several hours because of all of the allergens he had breathed in while he slept. Since using the purifier, he's not doing that anymore! He wakes up with a clear nose, and he definitely feels and looks better. He is one happy kid in the mornings now.
