Reco Jeans

I have a confession to make. While I’ve been enjoying getting a few new things for fall from ethical companies and thrift stores, the other day I decided to head to the mall to find a pair of inexpensive black ankle boots to supplement my shoe wardrobe. I can’t even begin to express my disappointment at what I found. Boots made out of weird, cheap, paper-thin material that look like they wouldn’t last one wear, let alone survive any sort of environmental element that comes with boot-wearing weather, including keeping your feet warm. And the worst part… they were selling for around $50 or more! I could not believe it. But, I was glad I had that moment of boot indiscretion, simply because it gave me a glimpse at what is out there. Needless to say, I went home empty-footed, and have decided it’s worth it to wait a little longer and get a pair of “real” boots.

In more exciting news, I was thrilled to win a pair of Reco Jeans during their August Birthday giveaway! Reco Jeans creates all of their denim out of recycled and/or sustainable materials using fair labor practices. They also very involved in giving back to communities around the world, working with organizations such as The Global Genes Project. They sent me the MrNY Mid Rise Skinny from their Matthew Langille collection. They’re the perfect skinny, with just the right amount of stretch. They are officially my new favorite pair of jeans.
