Two hours, that’s the amount of time I was in NYC last Saturday, but let me tell you, a lot of fabric can be bought in that short span. Don’t believe me? Just ask Lauren, who was just as awesome in real life as on her blog, about the fabrics she swooped up at Mood. Rochelle recently wrote about meeting the people who follow you and you follow in person, and she’s totally right. Over a common hobby such as sewing, you become instant friends (and usually take lots of Instagrams, depending on if you get service). During this meet up, I not only talked it up Nette and Marce, who was sporting a magnificent and mammoth hairdo, but I also met Sonja, Latrice, Amity, Devra, Jennifer and many more for the first time. I was a good girl and only walked away with a yard and half of fabric (polka dotted… go figure), but I was a total mom and asked everyone what they bought. I squandered my urge to buy vicariously through their purchases. I also came bearing gifts. So, so cheesy I know, but as we were all leaving, I passed out a spool of vintage gimp thread (silk buttonhole twist). Just a little takeaway to show my appreciation to all them for inspiring me to be better. Until next time, ladies (because there will be a next time!).
And how awesome is Claire’s facial expression/smirk in the photo (3rd in from the left, in the back)? What a European babe; I totally have a girl crush on her.
