Last week I cam across an interesting blog (called Fashion Bloggers, Why!? - warning, it's vulgar) that pretty much bashes some of the world's leading fashion bloggers for dressing unrealistically or promoting an unfair expectation of beauty. While I don't agree with a lot of the posts, I can see where the author is coming from. Blogging seems to be taking off and is starting to influence the fashion world, instead of the blogs being influenced by fashion. I obviously don't look 100% in all of my outfit posts, but I also don't post pictures I would consider terribly unattractive.
So just for the record (and so I never get heckled for being pretentious), I announce that I dress like a hobo when I am home. Seriously. I snapped this after I came in from an interview this week. About 10 seconds after I had thrown my pencil skirt and heels across the room, I was already in an old baggy Henley tee and hand-decorated boxers from my sophomore year.
I don't think there is anything wrong with trying to look your best. But no one does it all the time. Even fashion bloggers, and especially me. Be yourself, and be comfortable doing it.
