What you see in the picture above is not a human. It's a robot, a geminoid. A geminoid is an android, designed to look exactly as its master. The first geminoid was created in 2005 by Prof. Hiroshi Ishiguro of ATR and the Tokyo-based firm, Kokoro. This one is called Geminoid-DK and comes from Aalborg University in Denmark.
Geminoid-DK is intended to advance android science and philosophy, in seeking answers to fundamental questions of which the most important are: What is a human? What is presence? What is a relation? What is identity?
