At some point in this new blogging journey I came across Zaz and her blog Mama and More and I totally connected with her!
Maybe it was becuase she leaves really insightful comments, maybe it was because I read something she wrote that really touched me or maybe it was because she is like the best friend everyone wants to have!
This lady does it all! She is a mom of two kids “Missy-G” her older girl and “mini-G” her not so baby (but will always be HER baby) boy. She runs a very active blog with lots of great refelctions on her life, style, career shift and parenting and also features interviews with other working moms that are trying to find balance while juggling it all.
As if that’s not enough she LOVES FASHION and I really like when she posts about her style, but I also appreciate that she isn’t a fashion blogger. She’s just a regular woman who still appreciates putting a little extra effort into what she wears because….well…it’s fun!
One of the first things I do when I find a new mommy blog is see if there are any style posts. I’m not kidding!
It is a way for me to see if I can connect with the person on another level. Do we like the same things? Would they ever wear a cropped top? Do they use words like “fierce” to describe their clothing?….You know all perfectly normal questions.
I must say I LOVE ZAZ’S STYLE!
She has a way of working in a few great accessories, playing with color and proportion and taking a seemingly simple outfit to a new level.
One of the reasons I look forward to her style posts, is because like me, she gives context to what she wore and why she wore it. I remember a few weeks ago when she had date night with her husband, and wore this fantastic shearling coat and Burberry leather skater skirt, I thought “she is so chic!”
This is the picture she posted when she got her new Chanel glasses, she’s pretty great with sharing all kinds of bits of her life, from her vacation with her husband (just the two of them …so jealous!) to the touching moment she had with her daughter last week.
Her blog is an ode to the complexities of life as a mom, but isn’t centered around her motherhood. She’s not afraid to indulge in her interests and in her desire to have “more” than motherhood. Throughout it all it is clear that her kids are a central part of her life, but like so many other things she talks about, they are one piece of the intricate puzzle that is her life.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this style feature of this real mom in her real digs
