Real Mom Street Style – Francesca at the Jazz Caffe

By Reasonstodress

The Reason She Dressed

A new Caffe opened up in Modena, and it is THE place to be on a Sunday afternoon.  This place is PACKED with families, and for 10 euro you can enjoy a brunch buffet with your cappuccino included!

Francesca was there with her family, and I just couldn’t help but notice her style.

What She Wore

I love her fuzzy, striped sweater mixed with coated (waxed), black jeans and Dr. Marten’s.  Her long metal ball and chain necklace and her knit scarf are the perfect layering accents for this season.  Plus, she is totally wearing a long dark vest, which according to WhoWhatWear is this season’s outdoor fashion trend.

When I asked her, where she got her clothes from, she mentioned that she gets a lot of her favorite things from her friend’s store.  In fact her friend was with her!

Friends

I’ve actually met her friend before!  She is the owner of (in my humble opinion) one of the BEST boutique stores in Modena, Allen Club.

And she has pretty great taste too (check out her coat… I snuck in this picture of her from behind in a creepy blogger sort of way!).

Her Boutique, Allen Club, is never too trendy, but instead focuses on doing a lot of research into important smaller brands that are making international waves. You cannot walk past the window without saying “I would really love to wear that”.

In Fact….

I’ve bought a few things here before.  To be perfectly honest, at full price I’ve never bought anything because I just don’t have that kind of money, however,  sometimes they have a 20 euro rack with items from the YEAR BEFORE on clearance.

It just so happens that last week I bought this totally comfy cotton sweater there.

What do you think?

I paired it with waxed jeans (I just bought them on sale for 15 euro!) and my luxury rain boots (read all about them here).

I love this sweater because the quality of the knit is fantastic, (I think regularly priced it was over 150 euro!!) it literally feels like I am wearing a permanent hug.  I took some inspiration from Nicole Richie and also gave myself a deep taupy-mauve manicure to match the sweater.

What did you score during the end of season sales this year?

Btw, did you hear that I’ve joined a 100 day shopping ban?  I’m joining a fantastic UK mommy fashion blogger, Rachel the Hat on her #100dayshoppingban.

I’ll be posting all about it, but basically from now until April 5th I’m not buying myself anything. Every post you see will be things I already own,  I will be shopping my own closet, repurposing and appreciating what I already own!

Am I nuts? Maybe! Are you in?
