Aside from them being hugely popular this year (and last), FLAT over the knee leather boots are here to stay for next winter too. They are comfortable, stylish, practical …. and dare I say it ….sexy, even though they are flat!
Here’s the best part of all you can find INCREDIBLE savings online right now as retailers start to discount footwear this time of year. I would highly recommend REAL LEATHER as opposed to pleather (plastic leather). Real leather will last, can be conditioned and treated and can easily be repaired.
I bought my pair of over the knee leather boots online last year and have been using them non-stop, they have become a wardrobe staple and I plan on keeping them nice and healthy for many seasons to come!
Pair them with leggings and an over-sized sweater for the fall, on top of jeans with a big coat for the winter or with tights and a short skirt – the possibilities are endless. Unlike their spiked cousins, FLAT over the knee leather boots won’t have you slipping on ice or toppling over in the snow and they can EASILY be dressed up for any occasion.

I know I’m the only blogger talking about shopping for YOU instead of buying gifts. We really don’t buy many gifts this time of year and try to concentrate on just spending time with friends and family.
Besides, December 26th which is Boxing day in North America doesn’t exist in Italy (yet). It is a holiday here so stores are closed and people are just encouraged to spend time with family.
I remember Boxing Day shopping with my mom and sisters in Canada. My younger sister HATED it, my older one wanted to shop alone and my mom wanted to spend all the time in her old lady stores! I usually bought “under pressure” because something was a good deal but I didn’t really LOVE it. After accumulating too many of these “great deals” that just occupied closet space I decided that maybe Boxing Day shopping wasn’t the best time to get the things I would LOVE and the things that would LAST.
Now, I try to focus my shopping strategy on getting high quality accessories and shoes at a good price and only buying cheap non-essential clothing items when they are on the 80% off rack (mid-February!).
I just think that with less “stuff” and a few more quality items we’d all live a little better.
So here’s to shopping for yourself this Season!
May your wallets permit you to have beautiful items that will last a long time and may you enjoy the holidays without stressing about getting your neighbor a mug or vase they will probably never use!!
