On an everyday basis, I don't really have that much time for makeup, it's more of a of slap an' go kind of affair. You may have heard of the 5 Product Face, No Makeup-Makeup e.t.c, and my routine is kind of along the same lines; literally the bare essentials to stop me looking like a zombie for all those mornings when I decide that 5 minutes more sleep is just a little more appealing. So next time you hit snooze on your alarm clock again, no fears, the 'ready in 5' edit is here.
I start with evening out my skin-tone a little to make everything seem a touch more perfected. For days where I don't have much time, I don't really want to waste it faffing around with brushes or making sure that a heavy coverage is blended in well enough so I like to 'make' my own tinted moisturiser. I do this by mixing a little of my regular foundation, Revlon Nearly Naked in 130 Shell with my everyday moisturiser, b:liv's Smooth and Splash and then rub it in using my fingers. I find that this works really well to give an nice light base but since it doesn't cover everything it's then time to break out the heavy-duties. Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer does the job perfectly, masking both the biggest and bluest of undereye circles and the reddest of spots. It does have a tendency to become a little cakey though so I would definitely say to apply as little as possible! Finally, I like to set everything down with a powder (currently using Rimmel's Stay Matte) to keep it looking good throughout the day.
For eyes, I like to keep it simple and I don't tend to bother with eyeshadow. A quick curl of my lashes, a good dose of mascara (Rimmel Scandaleyes) and a brightening pencil (Rimmel Scandaleyes in Nude) in the water-line is enough to give me that awakened effect that I am after, or close, anyway. I then like to go in with a pink (theBalm's Plump your Pucker) or peachy (YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in Corail Intuitive) lip color to further brighten my (probably tired) face, a complementing blush color (theBalm's DownBoy) to make me look healthy and glowing, and the look is done!
