According to a report from Wall Street Journal, SnapChat is already in talks with media firms and advertisers to introduce a new service called Snapchat Discovery, which shows short news stories to users alongside with some ads. The service will also show 10-second videos, although it’s unclear how long these article are going to be.

I’m not sure if reading news in a hurry is going to be the next big thing or if it can beat sexting, but it sure seems like an easy way for SnapChat to monetize the app. I guess this will also give young users a good reason to explain the app to their parents as well.
