RDGLDGRN Defines a New Chill Sound with ‘Won’t Last’ [Video]

RDGLDGRN – an indie- go go – rock trio – based out of Washington DC has a track record that is hard to beat. In the short 4 years that they’ve been together, they have performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live, toured the festival circuit and have had the privilege of working with Pharrell Williams who co-wrote and produced their track “Doing the Most”.

When the guys formed in 2011, their first single “I Love Lamp” – which hilariously nods to Anchorman – went viral with their self-produced YouTube video. They got noticed by Kevin Augunas, producer of Cold War Kids, who then went to work producing their first EP. That first single subsequently got released in 2013 by Rolling Stone with a version featuring Dave Grohl on drums (who also featured them on his HBO documentary).
They are currently on tour throughout Germany until December when the head back to the US to tour up and down the East Coast. This tour is in support of their sophomore EP, aptly titled RDGLDGRN 2. The track we’re featuring, “Won’t Last” has a melody, lyrics and video that showcases why we love following this band: RDGLDGRN is chill as f***. They effortlessly combine rock and hip-hop with go-go beats and light and breezy vocal tones. Combining all these elements has the danger of being sonically chaotic but with them this type of sound is becoming a perfect musical reality.
