Quick and Easy Everyday Hairstyles.

By Samantha Curtis @hooahandhiccups

Over the course of my life I’ve tried a ton of different hairstyles. I’ve grown it out and chopped it off. I’ve colored it, highlighted it, ombréd it… you name it, I’ve probably done it. My hair has been black, red, purple (tips), and every shade of brown and blonde you can think of. After having my first kid I decided to cut it all off because it was driving me nuts. But for me personally, I found that having short hair was actually more difficult than having long hair! At least I could throw it in a bun when I had long hair!

But most days, I start with my hair down and by the end of the day, it’s on top of my head. I’ve always been known for my “Cabbage Patch” hair-do which eventually, would be dubbed as the “mom bun”. So let it be known that I was rocking a mom bun before a mom bun was even a thing. But I like to change it up once in awhile and do a few different things with my hair when I need it out of my face.

So today I wanted to share a few different hairstyles with you. These are all super easy and can be done in just a few minutes. My inspiration behind this? Veterans Day is tomorrow and Suave is donating 10,000 products to troops overseas. They’re encouraging women everywhere to share a military-inspired hairstyle on Veterans Day using the hashtag #ShareBeauty to show support. How cool is that?! The military used to be really strict with their hairstyle regulations but have since become a little more lenient. This video by a veteran and YouTube guru shows two awesome regulation hair styles to help our service women spruce up their day-to-day hair routine.

I may not be in the military but I’m often in a hurry and looking for quick hairstyles to pull my hair out of my face. I used these Suave® products to put together a few different looks:

Style 1: Messy Low Bun:

Wash and condition your hair with Suave Sea Mineral Moisturizing Body Shampoo and Conditioner.

Spray with Suave® Sea Mineral Texturing Sea Salt Spray.

Let air dry (or use a diffuser if you’re in a time crunch).

Pull half of your hair back and spray hair with Luxe Style Hairspray while teasing. (If you want to cheat a little, add a small clip to keep it up)

Next, take the remaining hair, pull it slightly to one side of your head, and wrap it into a messy low bun.

When you’ve wrapped the hair tie around as many times as you can, pull your bun in opposite directions as you push up. This will give you extra volume.

Spray with Luxe Style Hairpray to lock in place.

Style 2: “Mom Bun” or Top Knot”

Bigger is better here; using Suave® Luxe Style Mousse, scrunch your hair while wet and let air dry.

Pull hair into a ponytail and take the hair with you as you make a figure 8. (See pictures for better explanation)

Grab each side of the bun and pull forward and down at the same time.

Pull and fluff bun until you have it as big and wild as you want it.

Tuck the two pieces you pulled into the hair tie if you want a cleaner bun.

Style 3: Gatsby On-The-Go:

Place a headband on top of your head.

Start tucking your hair into the headband and work your way around until all pieces are tucked.

Spray with Luxe Infusion Hairspray to tame loose pieces.

These styles may not be military regulation but they’re quick, fun, and fabulous. Now it’s your turn to show me your military inspired hairstyle! Be sure to use the hashtag #ShareBeauty to support Suave® and our military service members. Thank you to all the veterans out there… we truly appreciate what you do! xo

We want you! Wear your military-inspired hairstyle on Veteran’s Day, share using #ShareBeauty, or both, to support Suave® as they donate 10,000 products to troops overseas.
