The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) yesterday approved the Ceylon Electricity Board’s (CEB) request to increase the power cut duration to 13 hours for today due to the unavailability of fuel for thermal power plants. The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has made a suggestion to the government to implement the ‘Work from Home’

(WFH)method for the public sector employees until the present fuel crisis is sorted out, PUCSL Chairman Janaka Ratnayake told Daily News yesterday. He said such a system will be helpful to reduce the fuel consumption in the country, thus paving the way for saving fuel for power generation. Ratnayake said the way how this method should be implemented should be decided by the government.
