In the last few years, the Republicans have tried to impose hundreds of new restrictions on a woman's right to control her own body (including making her own decision on abortion). But in spite of those concerted efforts, and of right-wing fundamentalist anti-choice propaganda, the Republicans find themselves once again opposed to the desires of a significant majority of Americans.The chart above is made from information provided in a recent Bloomberg News Poll (done between September 20th and 23rd of 1,000 nationwide adults, with a 3.1 point margin of error). It shows that only 22% of Americans think more restrictions are needed on abortion (and another 10% are unsure what to think on the subject), while about 68% of the population opposes more restrictions.
