PlayStation 4 was once again the top selling console in the US for the month of July, according to data from The NPD Group supplied to GamesBeat.
"We are truly humbled by the success of the PS4, and we would like to thank gamers for making it the top-selling console and No.1 in software sales in the United States in July," a Sony spokesperson said in a statement provided to GamesBeat.
Sony also confirmed that more PS4 games were sold than on any other platform.
Xbox One didn't perform badly either, with system sales up 44 per cent over July 2014, putting figures at an estimated 188,000 units.
"Xbox One and Xbox Live continued to see strong sales and engagement in July," Xbox marketing boss Mike Nichols said in a statement. "Xbox One sales in the US [were] up 44 per cent over July 2014 and active global Xbox Live users - Xbox One and Xbox 360 - up 22 per cent."
Software sales for the month were led by LEGO Jurassic World, which hit the top spot after charting third in July. Batman: Arkham Knight is in second, but would have charted first had console bundled copies been included in the sales totals.
EA's Rory McIlroy PGA Tour was the best-selling new release at No.5, with sales up 70 per cent compared to the first month total for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14.
