Proud to Be a Part of the Brave Dave Open!

Posted on the 14 June 2013 by Lindsay King @suzyblacks

Today is the day of the 15th annual Brave Dave Open!  Suzy Blacks is very excited to be involved with such a wonderful charity event.  Much thanks to GEICO, Outback, Chik-Fil-A and many other sponsors for their help with making today so special.

The Brave Dave Open is a golf tournament held every year to raise money to help in the effort to cure all auto-immune diseases.  The Brave Dave Foundation has contributed over $400,000 to date, and also works to help educate the public about the pervasiveness of auto-immune diseases among society, cost of treatment, and much more.

The founder of the foundation is a Montgomery County native- Mr. Dave Gearing, who has been battling Multiple Sclerosis for nearly 30 years. He was an avid golfer growing up, and though forced to retire his clubs, he intends to educate the public and stay involved as best he can to play his part in working to find a cure.  Dave is a very kind soul who makes friends anywhere he goes.  He is a strong man with a lot of heart, and truly an inspiration to those fighting with the daily struggles of AI diseases across the globe.
