Project Cars aiming for authenticity on PS4
Slighty Mad Studios will give players the freedom to drive how they want in the kind of cars they want in its upcoming racing game Project Cars, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog.
Creative director Andy Tudor writes that the developer's goal since the game's conception in Oct. 2011 has been to make Project Cars as true to life as possible. In addition to providing a wide range of different cars for players to tinker with, the team also wanted the game to include different kinds of motorsports and allow players to experiment with both.
"We wanted the core driving experience to be the most authentic on the planet, and we wanted to provide you with all the features you need to recreate a race weekend as it happens in real life — complete with a dynamic time of day and a weather system that not only looks beautiful but challenges your skills and provides strategic opportunities," Tudor said. "And we wanted to connect players together with a variety of online and community features — time trials, events, competitive multiplayer, content sharing, stat comparisons and more."
Both cars and tracks are being recreated in ways faithful to the originals, "down to the screws that hold the suspension system together" and "the nuances of every corner, every rumble strip, every bump on the tarmac."
