Private Everest Helicopter Tour

By Nepalvisitors @nepalvisitors

Experience the thrill of flying up into "The Roof of the World" in your own private helicopter and look down upon the world's largest mountain range - The Himalayas. An unforgettable experience reserved for the privileged few. The scale is often hard to comprehend. To give you some context, the largest peak outside of Asia stands at 6,962 metres (22,841 ft). The Himalayan system holds within it over 100 mountains that exceed 7,200 metres (23,600 ft). And then there are 'the Eight-Thousanders' including K2 and the most famous of them all... Mount Everest. There is no better way to experience the sheer enormity of this natural phenomenon than from the window of this Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour as your expert pilot guides you through this natural wonder.

This private charter helicopter flight takes you from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Flying parallel to the Himalayan Range, you climb steadily until you reach a height and location that provides views of Mount Everest that can only be described as awe-inspiring. To look upon this mountain in person is to understand its position in the popular imagination. The highest in the world, standing at 8,848 metres (29,029ft) above sea level, no other mountain comes close to filling us with wonder and fascination.

The next stage of your private Mount Everest helicopter tour is to land at Tengboche, which is situated at an altitude of 12,000 feet (3,780 m.) and is an important midway station for climbers attempting to conquer the great mountain. The village has no road network and can normally only be reached following days of gruelling trekking. Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay - an inhabitant of this village - were the first to reach the summit of Mount Everest in 1953. Since then the village has held a special place in climbing folklore. Here, you will spend an hour exploring the village, meeting the local inhbitants and exploring its famous Tengboche monastery.

Tengboche also provides the ideal location for some breathtaking photographs. In his book 'The Ascent of Everest', John Hunt, the leader of the famous 1953 expedition, perhaps describes the village best:
"one of the most beautiful places in the world... it provides a grandstand beyond comparison for the finest mountain scenery that I have ever seen, whether in Himalaya or anywhere else"

During your return leg, you will be flying close to Mt. Langtang and Jugal Himal. On your approach back to the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted with the awesome aerial view of the entire Kathmandu Valley.

This unique Everest helicopter tour quite literally takes you to the 'Top of the World'.

Note: Helicopter can lift only 3 persons at a time from Everest base camp due to high altitude. So, if more the 3 pax, it may have to do shuttle which means lift passengers turn by turn. 3 passengers should be necessary to operate the Everest helicopter tour.
