There are quite a few ways to find new music on the internet — blogs, iTunes/Spotify, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Tumblr — but it’s a more unlikely source that has led us to initially find artists such as our #1 favorite, Kishi Bashi. That source is none other than funding platform Kickstarter. While we really do hate posting about campaigns, there are certain artists that I come across who deserve a little more light be shed on their work and what they’re trying to do. One such artist is Denver-based multi-instrumentalist Princess Music (who also goes by the name Tyler Ludwick).
His debut single “White Wave”, the only piece of music he has yet to release, was posted here last year and has been stuck in my head ever since. After years of hard work, his debut record is finally finished and now he’s trying to raise a bit of money so he can pay the producer as well as the orchestra that played on the album, print vinyl/CDs/shirts, and have a proper album release show. Dive into the music and watch out for the album, Odebendae, which comes out on August 6 (we already have it and can whole-hearted say it’s one of most gorgeous releases of the year).
