Prince Club

Prince ClubWe've been long time supporters of Prince Club - formely Mad Kidz - and with their new name comes a whole host of tunes and a slightly different sound, but with the production level safely in tact, if not better. As Mad Kids they released one of the most underrated tunes of last year, 'House of Damon'. The Canadian duo have recently seen releases on blog-trendy labels Snatch! and Discobelle Records.
Their style is a decidedly stripped-down, loopy brand of cheeky house.
Prince Club pitch-down Janet Jackson's vocals from 2001 hit 'Someone To Call My Lover', and lay a choppy, lumbering house beats under it:
Prince Club - Love Jackson [pelski highly recommends]
Fidgetty and slightly wobbly, 'I Know' is nothing short of immensely fun. Epic breakdowns, jittery beats and rushing filters all punctuate a dancefloor piano house bomb. This was originally released on It_Tizz Recordings and has now been reissued as a freebie on Riva Starr's Snatch! imprint:
Prince Club - I Know [pelski highly recommends]
Bouncy minimal grooves, with plenty of spluttering and clicky-clacky business; not far off from a lot of Camel and Mowgli's output:
Prince Club - Humpty Dumpty
A seriously loopy piece of house music that worms it's way into your head and refuses to leave, with it's unrelenting juddering rhythm and gulping synth snippets.
Prince Club - 303s and 808s
The original mix of 'La Charma' was released on Discobelle last year. They threw this tasty remix out for free:
Prince Club - La Charma Pt. 2 (Prince Club Sub-Marine Mix)
Bonus: Adele Rolling In The Deep (Prince Club House mix)
