“Preacher” TV Series Will Pilot at AMC – They´re Breaking Bad Again!

After “The Walking Dead” AMC is airing their next TV series that is based on a comic book – “Preacher”. Like we saw with “Breaking Bad” AMC is not afraid of showing strong content and because of that it might be safe to say that they will make a good job with the adaption of “Preacher” as well.

According to a report of Variety.com the TV series “Preacher” is going to pilot at AMC in 2016. The story is based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon of the

same name. It´s about the preacher Jesse Custer who was possessed by a creature from heaven and then has the ability to command people with his mind. With the irish vampire Cassidy and his exgirlfriend Tulip he tries to find god who escaped heaven after the creature Genesis was born.

Now some people might say that the series will never be aired because of all the violence and the criticism of religion. “Preacher” might piss some people off. But I think AMC has shown that they can handle strong content and make quality television out of it. The only problem might be that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are somehow involved in the production of the series. But they already revealed:
“Preacher’ has been our favorite comic since it first came out. Garth Ennis is one of our idols and it’s an incredible honor to be working on this. We promise we won’t make too many dick jokes and ruin it.”

Jesse might have commanded them to say this but we take it! “Preacher” is our favorite comic series as well and because of its length it´s perfectly suited for a TV series. With the right cast and good writers everything is possible.
